Sue Maslin AO

Just recently appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) film producer Sue Maslin joins the From A to Me series in Episode 12.

With a career spanning 35 years in both feature and documentary films, Sue is one of Australia’s most successful film producers with credits include The Dressmaker; one of Australia’s highest grossing films.

As a strong advocate for women in the film industry, Sue was a founding director and is current president of the Natalie Miller Fellowship “to encourage, to recognise, to nurture the next generation of female leaders” in the industry. In 2018, Sue was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

In her journey from science degree to award-winning film producer, Sue recognises those who truly inspired her and the obstacles she has overcome along the way. Sue narrows down her success to her ability to “remain curious and [to] never stop taking creative risk”.
